One stroke at a time.

The Zentangle Method is a simple, meditative way to create beautiful images with structured patterns—one deliberate stroke at a time.

No artistic experience required. Really.

So, what exactly is Zentangle?

The Zentangle® Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns called tangles. Using simple strokes—dots, lines, curves, S-curves and orbs—you build something wonderfully intricate one small mark at a time.

In the Zentangle Method, you don't plan what the finished piece will look like before you begin. Instead, you pay attention to the stroke you’re making right now, let the image unfold, and stay curious about what happens next.

That’s one of the things I love most about Zentangle: you don’t have to know where you’re going before you begin.

The Zentangle Method was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. “Zentangle” is a registered trademark of Zentangle, Inc. Learn more at Zentangle.com.
